Meet the Artist

Hi, I’m Shannon, the artist behind Promethea Mosaic. I’ve been making art on and off my whole life, but what keeps me coming back is the joy of problem-solving through creativity. I love experimenting with new mediums, from watercolor and gouache to alcohol markers, ink, colored pencils, and acrylics. My pieces are often mixed media, layered with care and curiosity.
My art process is deeply intuitive. I often blend reference images or paint from memory, but many times, I simply let the ink or paint dance on the page and respond to what unfolds. I rarely follow rigid plans. I prefer to let the work grow organically, guided by a sense of wonder and the beauty the Lord places on my heart.
Years ago, I used to sculpt with polymer clay, but when I learned more about what it was made of, I stepped away from it. These days, I’m learning embroidery and hand-sewing, and dreaming of one day trying my hand at ceramics and pottery.

When I’m not painting, you’ll probably find me in the garden or wandering through the woods, foraging wild plants and soaking in creation. Nature is where I feel most alive, and it’s also where I find most of my inspiration.
But this isn’t just about me. I’m a mom to nine wonderful children. Promethea Mosaic is a business I started not only because I love building things and connecting with people, but also because I want to create something lasting, something rooted in beauty, stewardship, and love. My dream is to one day collaborate with my children on creative projects or even pass this business down to them, weaving their art, music, and ideas into its future.
As Promethea Mosaic grows, I also hope it becomes a space where other like-minded creators can be supported. I would love to feature and sell thoughtfully made items from fellow artists and makers, building a small, meaningful community that celebrates handmade beauty, intentional living, and shared values.

This is a space for slow art, meaningful stories, and heartfelt connection. While many of my offerings are currently produced in small quantities by hand, my hope is to thoughtfully grow, partnering with like-minded businesses that can help bring Promethea Mosaic to more people, using materials and methods that stay true to my values. At its heart, this will always be a place where faith, family, and the natural world come together, one piece at a time.
